Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a quiet area of Montreal Island, which is known as West Island. It is a bit of a mystery as the West Island can be confusing for those who aren't familiar with its meaning. They often believe it is an island that lies west of Montreal However, it is actually a part of the city. West Island encompasses everything between the cities that are Lachine and West. Amanda Brugel was born there however her stay was not long in the city. Brugel lived in Courtice near Oshawa the city of Ontario. She had a dream to be a dancer but a growth spurt resulted in her outgrowing her dance partner. An article in the Toronto Star article revealed she's 6ft 1in tall in heels. When I grew out of my male partners, I quit. The Brugel is one of the former dancers who shifted into acting. Her teacher from high school encouraged her to take the next step. It was her teacher who advised her to audition for the role of Anne for their school's annual production. She tried out and was eventually cast as the role of the main character for the role in Anne of Green Gables. Following her award of the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she attended York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. Since then, Brugel's been in over 60 productions both large and small. Most notable was the time she was cast as Rita on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel, the only Canadian in the season 1 cast of the show as well as appearing only on occasion, was the sole Canadian.
